    GCPL Book Discussion Group

    Join a librarian from the Geauga County Library for a book discussion among the tropical plants and flowers at Lowe's Greenhouse. Books will, of course, have a flower theme. One lucky reader on each date will go home with a small floral gift! Discussions are open to anyone who loves to read and share ideas.     What happens when you combine plant classes with beer from Crooked Pecker Brewing Company? Help us find out as we launch a new series of Plants & Pints. Programs will take place on four Saturday afternoons from 1 to 2 pm. Register for one or all four (and go home with a fun t-shirt at the end!). $20/class includes program, a plant, and a beer.     Jan 25: Ferns - Not many plants can fill the soul with a feeling of peace and serenity like ferns. We will discuss the many families of ferns and look at the 5 most easily grown in your home or office.

    Feb 8: Pass Along Plants - Plants are awesome but giving a plant to someone else that you grew yourself is really special. Learn about the plants that are easily propagated at home that you can pass along to others.

    Feb 22: The Most Instagram-able Plants on the Planet - Philodendron, Pothos, and Echeveria are some of the most popular plants for good reason. Learn the tricks to growing these trendy plants and learn about some other interesting and popular variations.

    Mar 7: Blooming Indoor Plants - Bring exciting color indoors with blooming tropical plants, like Gardenias, Citrus, Anthurium, and Begonias, that can last for many years in your home.

    Kids' Class: Hoya Succulent Planter

    Saturday, Feb 8, 2020, 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM

    Children can create a lasting Valentine gift for a parent, grandparent or other special person in their life on Saturday, February 8, at 11 am. We'll provide the hoya succulent (they're shaped like a heart!) and a pot for kids to decorate. $15/child. Ages 3 and up, with adult supervision. Register HERE.
